Either stack those AppStacks again or get them transported with the fling and Veeam. Both of these solutions are time-consuming and try explaining this to the support staff… To make life easier, I wrote a PowerShell script to properly copy App Volumes AppStacks and it’s metadata from the source datastore to any (shared) datastore.
In December 2014, VMware released VMware App Volumes, and since then, lots of new features have been added, and people love using App Volumes.
The migration process copies all programs contained in the AppStack to the new Package. The App Volumes Packaging Utility is a fling. This means that there is no official support from VMware and flings are not guaranteed to become part of any product. However, there is community support to which you can reach out. / April 23, 2018 / VMware App Volumes While working with app volumes since the release in the year of 2014, I notice that it was difficult to find a backup solution that can backup a single vmdk file without being mounted to a virtual machine. Fixed: Turns out BitDefender is not working as it should. Our policies are not applying the same across computers, nor are the modules. BD operates policies and modules differently - just because you have a certain policy set, doesn't mean the module it applies to installs on the device, but it also doesn't mean the policy isn't operating on the device at some level. I wonder if someone face that issues with imported packages from v2 to v4 using AppVolumes Migration Utility Fling. Here is what I discover. I was able to migrate all of my packages and they show up correctly in v4 using the tool.

Searching for "onedrive" in the comments of the OSOT fling, I found the solution: deleting a registry key that disables OneDrive Sync. This is really useful, thanks. So I've created the GPO, but i don't think it's working. Is anyone having trouble deleting an Appstack from the GUI in AppVolumes 3.X? I don't see any delete button at all.

Also, all VMware App Volumes AppStacks are created on this platform. When the AppStacks are ready for production you want to be able to copy these to the Production storage for App Volumes. For this, there is no proper solution… Either stack those AppStacks again or get them transported with the fling and Veeam. So for migrations VMWare have a fling for this: App Volumes Migration Utility | VMware Flings It'll (hopefully) take an existing app stack and just convert it to the new 4.0 format, meaning you can migrate now and then slowly re-provision your apps in to single appvolumes over time. I mean you are updating the apps anyway right?
